Teams of two were required to wear full Turnout gear and a Scott SCBA and competed against each other and the clock using Cutters Edge Saws and hand tools to complete the following Challenges:
Roof Ventilation Challenge:
At the start signal teams selected a MULTI-CUT Fire Rescue Saw and Hand Tool and proceeded to the Roof Ventilation Station (1) where they cut a ventilation hole within a marked area and, after completing the cut (2)...
The second team member pulls the cut material free, allowing it to drop into the opening. Both Team Members replace their saw and tool and proceed to the Forcible Entry Tool Cache to select their saw and hand tool for the Forcible Entry Challenge (3)...
Forcible Entry Challenge
The Saw Operator uses a Rotary Rescue Saw to cut two carriage bolts (4) and the locking mechanism on the door. The second Team Member uses the Haligon Tool to force open the door. After replacing the saw and the tool team members proceed through the open door (5) and carry a 175 pound Rescue Randy through the door to a marked area (6)...
One Team member drags Rescue Randy across the Finish Line along with the second team member to stop the clock and complete the Challenge.
Thomas Ruzich, Cutters Edge Founder and President, presented a MULTI-CUT Fire Rescue Saw to the winning teams at San Diego and Haverhill, Massachusetts.
